1920s French Stoneware Confit Pot or Jar
A beautiful solid piece of authentic hand-turned French glazed stoneware Confit pot or jar with loop handles commonly referred to as "ears".
Circa 1920s.
Made in France.
This medium to large sized pot stands 9" in height with a 7.75" diameter opening and is a lovely earthy beige -gray color with a ring design along the top.
In the French countryside during the 19th century and earlier these earthenware jars were originally used for preserving foods.
They make beautiful vases for flower bouquets, a crock for kitchen utensils or as a storage jar for an artist.
