Antique Burslem Staffordshire Tonquin Lidded Tureen
An elegant antique 19th Century Burslem Staffordshire England lidded soup tureen in the Tonquin pattern.
Circa 1910.
Makers mark on the underside. Edge, Malkin & Co. (1871-1903).
The 'B' marking is for Burslem which was the "Mother of towns" in Staffordshire for creating glazed earthenware of this quality.
This lovely dish of blue and white has an exquisite floral pattern on scalloped edges with a beautiful English home scene on top of the lid.
This tureen would look charming on a buffet or as a centerpiece for a table. There was a previous repair made to the handle on the lid as shown in the last photo.
DIMENSIONS- 11ʺW × 9ʺD × 5.25ʺH
CONDITION- Excellent condition with some crazing as consistent with the age & history.
