Late 19th Century Antique Spanish Earthenware Olive Jar Jug
A fabulous large rustic earthenware Olive Jar or Jug with two handles made in Spain.
Circa 1890-1900.
This handmade and hand turned jar is made from a brownish red clay and embellished with a rust colored glaze on the inside and around the top rim.
The mouth of this splendid jar is 9" in diameter with a round body that narrows at the bottom.
These jars and jugs have been used all across the Mediterranean for generations for storing and transporting olives and olive oil.
Today they are stunning in a grouping with other sizes or displaying dried botanicals and perfect for a Rustic European look.
